Taxi Fares

Following the annual review of taxi fares, which included a public consultation in November 2014, the Transport for London (TfL) Board has approved a freeze in taxi fares.

The cost index used to calculate changes to taxi fares showed a 0.1 per cent decrease this year. The TfL Board therefore agreed to defer this decrease to next year’s fare calculations.

This is the first freeze of taxi fares since TfL took over responsibility for licensing taxis in 2000 and will last until April 2016. Full details of the taxi tariffs are available on the TfL website at tfl.gov.uk/taxifares.
